In 2009 Aurel Vlaicu Technical College is ranked 14th in national competition, "European School 2009,, coordinator teacher Elena Rusu
The competition was attended by 130 schools in Romania .
The award ceremony was held at the Parliament Palace in Bucharest with the participation of Minister of Education: Mrs. Ecaterina Andronescu.

Short description:	Getting information and discussing about nutrition to raise awareness in students about various issues (including anorexia and bulimia) by comparing/contrasting various lifestyles and by using all various ICT instruments for a better and more effective communication
Goals:	Raising awareness in students about really important issues
ICT tools:	e-mail, google docs, chat, videoconferencing (elluminate), blogging (blogger,wordpress,blogspot,) socialnetworking (ning), videomaking software (moviemaker or other free software), podcasting and interviews (audacity)
Pedagogical basis:	Developing an understanding of nutrition and what it implies Developing a sense of collaboration and group work Cultivating various skills (being able to analyse, compare, contrast, communicate) Learning new ICT tools
Working methods:	Material will be produced on a schedule by all different partner students, then they will publish it on a social network which will be their common playground for sharing, discussing, common problem-solving
